Got Punk’d! Best & Worst Dressed At The Met Ball 2013

The A listers hit the red carpet in NYC last night for this years Met Ball, an event that marked the opening of the PUNK: Chaos to Couture exhibition. The likes of Cara Delevigne, Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift worked the carpet in couture gowns, some opting to go punk! Some got it spot on whilst others just got in plain wrong!

Cara Delevigne opts for slick hair, smokey eyes and a studded floor length dress. WOW!

Miley Cyrus ogt it spot on with this fish net dress and spiking her cropped hair. LOVE IT!

Sienna studded biker jacket is to die for and its beaut teamed with this simple white dress!

California’s coolest music and arts festival – Coachella!

Yes it is that time of the year already! FU have been Coachella style spotting our faves.

Not only are all of us at Fashion Union HQ ridiculously jealous of those that attended, we are just hoping we can look half as cool this summer as the super stylish celebs that were spotted all over.

Victoria’s Secret models Miranda Kerr & Alessandra Ambrosio were spotted looking amazing in fetival gear sporting teeny hotpant, hat and boots combo’s.

We love boho and Vanessa Hugdens was bang on trend in her coordinating cute crochet top and shorts complete with floral headband.

Pretty Little Liars’ Lucy Hale showed off her pins in a weather appropriate thigh-split maxi and knotted crop. We reckon the more accessories the better and we are totally in love with that aztec print rucksack!!

We cannot wait for festival season, bring on summer we say!

So this Spring/Summer we are rebelling against skinnies, for now at least, and embracing new season denim.

This Summer is all about the ‘Mom Jean’ the wardrobe staple has had a nineties throwback and has been reinvented for a super cool, flattering jean. The Ashish SS13 catwalk sported the Mom Jean trend in both patchwork and sequin styles.

This season make a statment in cool comic prints. From cute ‘boom’ print tees to printed dresses at Fashion Union we are totally in love with this fun trend.

We were first inspired by 3.1 Phillip Lim ‘ka-pow’ print tops last season and since Roy Litchenstein’s exhibition has hit the Tate, we can’t get enough of the the trend!

To complete the pop art trend, add a bright lipstick or a slick of bright eyeliner for a totally fab look!! Its a another easy way to get a taster of the trend!

Spring/Summer 13 is all about a second skin in the form of sheer summer fabrics. Dare to bare in mesh panelling and patchwork elements.

The Stella McCartney runway showcased masculine sport infused styles with pops of bright colour and flattering conceal-and-reveal sheer panels.

The Giambattista Valli runway on the other hand was a slightly more grown up vibe with a playful and revealing edge featuring lots of white lace and silk organza.

Sheer fabrics and peek-a-boo details are heavily featured this season and we are loving anything and everything see-through. Perspex bags and heel details are a slightly less revealing take on the trend for the not so brave.

For a more literal take keep your look pretty in lace dresses and tops. Sheer side panels and waist lines are a super flattering way to work the trend, Fashion Union’s mesh inserts and lace details are perfect for this summer’s hottest trend.
