Name:Rosie Blake

Age:21

Blog name: RosieGlow

Tell us about your blog, style, what you write about?

I just write about fashion and everything that I love about it. I mostly post outfit photos of what I’ve worn, along with lust-lists, reviews of new collections, brands and general fashion and styling tips.

What inspired you to first start your blog?

I’ve always loved fashion and would often read other fashion blogs thinking “I should do this”. In 2010 I had a voice operation that meant I had to stay at home recovering for a few weeks, and in that time I decided to make RosieGlow happen!

How long have you been blogging?

I started my blog in September 2010.

Why did you choose the name of your blog?

To be honest, it just popped into my head when I was thinking of what I could name my blog! I knew I wanted something short and catchy, and it’s an added bonus that it’s something that’s a recognised phrase anyway!

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I’ve always loved fashion and have quite a natural sense of style in terms of what I like and what to wear together (even if often it’s in an unconventional way!) I read a lot of magazines and pay attention to the catwalk, but I think what really inspires me is street-style and, above all, other blogs! I have quite a bohemian, and vintage-inspired style, so take inspiration mostly from places other than the catwalk and high-street as I like my looks to have a bit of a “different” edge.

Is your blog your full time job? If not what is it that you do?

I wish my blog was successful enough for me to be a full-time blogger, but not yet unfortunately! I’m currently at Uni studying Music in Manchester and am a part-time social media fashion intern on the side too. I know I want to work in fashion (although I’m not sure in what area yet), so I am gearing myself towards that with my blogging and working activities whilst I’m still at Uni.

What are your dreams and ambitions?

I can’t wait to move to London and live a fashion-filled life! I would ideally like my blog to develop enough for me to be a full-time blogger, but I’m also interested in working for a fashion company or magazine in social media, journalism, PR or buying! I’m keeping my options open! My current dream is to attend London Fashion Week next year as a blogger (I had my first taste this year thanks to my internship and now I’m longing for more!)

Who are your favourite fashion designers?

At the moment, I’m loving Carven for the bright colours, Jonathon Saunders for the pastel hues, and the prints at Cavalli. I also can’t get enough of Mary Katrantzou’s amazing florals and prints, I wish I had the money for one of her creations! I also always love Marc Jacobs and Balmain.

What other blogs do   you read?

I read a lot of blogs, and the worst thing is that often I forget which blog I’ve read a post I like on – it’s easy to forget names! My favourite daily reads though are Be Frassy, Strutt, What Olivia Did and Cats and Rocking Chairs. I find so much inspiration in all of their fashion tastes! My favourite recent find has got to be The Little Magpie, a blog I came across this week with some really gorgeous outfits!

Who is your style icon?

Ooh, I don’t actually have a definite answer to that one! I love the styles of Fearne Cotton, Kate Moss and (obviously) Alexa Chung though.

Describe your personal style?

As a blogger, I probably should have a set answer to this question, but I really don’t think I do! My style tends to vary depending on how I’m feeling from day to day, as I tend to go with my impulses fashion-wise and won’t wear something just because it’s fashionable if I’m not feeling in the mood for it! I think my style is quite eclectic and vintage-inspired, often with a bit of a grungy edge. Although I do pay attention to trends, I will always give them my own twist!

What trends do you love this season?

I never thought I’d say this, as I usually steer clear of anything too girly or sweet-coloured (I’m afraid that with my blonde hair, it will make me look like a Barbie doll!), but I can’t get enough of the pastels trend this season! I’ve gone mad for coloured jeans and am building up a whole rainbow spectrum in my wardrobe! I also love the tribal trend that’s sticking around…Spring fashion is definitely looking like it will be great for me!

Fave AW12 LFW show?

Definitely Mary Katrantzou, I think she’s incredible right now!
